Pathways Forward has been a part of Dauphin County for 36 years. Things have changed over the years (including our name!) but what hasn’t changed is our commitment to serving and helping the residents of Dauphin County live full and inclusive lives. We provide Mental Health and IDD/Autism case management services for individuals in need.
We know that mental health does not exist in a silo. The physical reality of everyday life and hunger has a direct effect on a person’s mental well-being. The rising costs of basic food items have a direct impact on people’s mental health and their physical well-being.
Each year our Annual Food Basket Project provides a 30 lb. box of fresh and non-perishable food to our consumers experiencing food insecurity. This not only provides nourishment for their physical health, it also supports their mental health.
Someone who benefited from the program last year shared this with their case manager.
“Thank you for the holiday food box. It was such a blessing to be able to have a good holiday meal with my family, but also to know that were was still food in my fridge and kitchen. I didn’t have to stress [about food]. It was a relief.”
A donation of $150 purchases one 30 lb. food basket of fresh and non-perishable food items. All donations support a family in need.
